EVERYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT ZAPD

Pic.testimonial1 "I'm loving the fact that I can invite my friends to post their photos and text. Any of us can share what we've created quickly and easily."— Brian C.   San Francisco, CA

Pic.testimonial2"If you've got more than 140 characters to share or a mix of text and photos, Zapd is the easiest way to package it all up. I make my Zaps, then post to Twitter and Facebook."— Michelle H.   Boston, MA

MEET THE TEAM

Kelly Smith
Kelly Smith

The Finicky Founder

Kelly has a serial fascination with starting companies. Prior to creating Zapd, he started Inkd, an online marketplace for buying and selling graphic design, and was the founder of Imagekind, which became the largest online venue for buying and selling art prints. He started his career peddling a commercial version of the Mosaic browser source code before there was a Netscape and worked on streaming audio and video when it was a nascent idea at RealNetworks.

Brian Fioca
Brian Fioca

The Developer Founder

Brian is one of those all around technology guys who hones his chops by starting companies. Prior to leading the tech charge at Zapd, he started RescueTime and Jobby. He raised some venture money and sold a company. He even got accepted into YCombinator which puts him in a pretty elite crowd. Brian impresses us by learning whatever is necessary to do the job. He does everything from mobile to backend and all in between. He's also bound to shake your hand in at a conference because he's just a nice guy like that.

Elijah Smith
Elijah Smith

The Code Ecologist

Eli tells us that "the Zapd user experience has been hand crafted in accordance with the finest standards. The CSS and HTML is written in a fair-trade sustainable solar powered environment, and is always 100% organic and table-free. We visit our producers each season to personally select the finest product available for your browser."

Chris Fogg
Chris Fogg

The Software Veteran

Chris has worked on some pretty big stuff and he brings the voice of reason to Zapd. Prior to joining our fledgling team, Chris worked in everything from health applications to multi-million user payroll applications. Suffice to say, in either industry, users expect things to work properly. Chris leverages his experience developing high-scale, complex web applications to help us make Zapd a better product. Whether it's mobile or server related, Chris is usually the guy who gets the tough tasks that sometimes have the rest of us scratching our heads.

Evan Parker
Evan Parker

The Eccentric Front-End Dev

Sure, Evan has some of the coolest games, toys and Nerf guns on his desk. We like that. But we also like the fact the he's the shepherd of all those great Zapd themes. In fact, Evan handles almost everything front-end related around here. From CSS to Javascript to Ruby, Evan touches a little bit of everything. He tends to be the guy that stitches everything together so our website and all those themes work and look exactly as they should. He also drinks more iced tea than most folks you know.

Michael Todd Smith
Michael Smith

Keeper of Customer Satisfaction

Sword wielding, art loving, man in charge of customer service and social media marketing. Michael is feverish about the little details that make Zapd such a great experience for our cool and creative users. Traveling far and wide to spread the news about our exciting ground up rework for this new model, Michael also works with Kelly on the artistic direction of Zapd.

Mark Eissler
Mark Eissler

The Code Constructionist

Mark is a technologist, creative, and entrepreneur. Before he arrived at Zapd to lead the Web Team, Mark had co-founded Mixtur Interactive, a Seattle-based marketing agency that assisted tech startups with marketing strategy, creative, and interactive. Prior to Mixtur, Mark had worked at a number of tech startups including Interlog, eGrail, and Digimo. And previous to all of those tech gigs, just before the dawn of the commercial Internet in the '90s, Mark made TV shows and commercials in Toronto's burgeoning film production scene. He likes to brag that his Kevin Bacon number is two.

Gavin Donnelly
Gavin Donnelly

Socialite

Gavin is the second member of our social media team. He brings a bit of swagger to the team. Half gangster tats on his arm. Half collegiate yuppie. With no hair out of place, one could assume Gavin could have a promising career as an Abercrombie model but his excellent writing chops keep him at the helm of our blog and twitter accounts. Actually, he always wanted to be an actor when he was younger. He wouldn't say no to an offer to be in your TV show. Gavin likes video games, coffee, street art and Korean food.

Kara Queen
Kara Queen

Marketing Ninja

Kara handles much of our social media and user communication. In short, she is awesome. Not so awesome that she was the original inventor of jujitsu or comic books. But, you know. Pretty awesome. She's got an idea for a subercraft - a hybrid of a submarine and a hovercraft. Got a problem or a question about Zapd? Kara is one of the folks who'll likely be responding. She might attach pictures of her cat to the occasional email you receive from her.
